Family with children recommend it for budget stay
The room was clean and comfortable enough for all of us, which was a relief. Staff at the desk were friendly and helped us when we had some noise issues from neighbors, showing they really cared about our comfort.
It wasn't cheap, but for what you get, it's still acceptable.

i was almost going to leave a good review, but there was a wodge of hair in my towel, and the windows were filthy. i also expected a welcome gift for my troubles, but wow was i let down. definitely not worth the hype and certainly doesn’t live up to its promises.

Spacious room with a clean bathroom provided solid comfort for a short stay. I appreciated the fridge for keeping drinks cold.
The shower felt cramped, and the breakfast selection lacked variety. there was confusion with what types of eggs could be served, which seemed to frustrate both guests and waitstaff alike. Water flow in the bathroom sink was a trickle, requiring patience during wash-up. Plus, a strange absence of hand soap meant using unfamiliar facial bars instead.

The hotel is in desperate need of an update. certain amenities seemed outdated.

Unexpectedly awesome stay!
Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise! The staff were super friendly and even threw in a room upgrade. Plus, the dinner at the restaurant was delish! The only thing that bugged me was the Wi-Fi, which acted up a bit. But still, can’t complain about a warm and clean room.

Kingsgate is a solid spot for exploring the Fiordland region with my big family, including our baby. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the breakfast blew us away with its great selection. Plus, the kids enjoyed the nearby water activities.
My children wished for a better play area for them to enjoy.
